Baby Sign Language is the use of signs to communicate with preverbal babies. Instead of crying or wailing, babies can use simple hand gestures (such as close/open hand to sign for MILK) to tell parents what they want, how they are feeling, or what is on their mind.

There are many benefits to signing with your baby such as decreased frustration for both parent and baby, ability to speak earlier, and higher IQ. However, the greatest benefit that baby signing brings to families is the stronger bond developed with baby.

Baby Sign Language has been in existence in the U.S. for over two decades. In the Philippines, I have been teaching parents how to sign for over 5 years. I was the first U.S. Certified Baby Sign Language Instructor and the only member of the Sign2Me Presenters’ Network, the oldest and most established organization of experts and instructors of baby sign language worldwide.

I would personally like to invite you to join a Baby Lingo Workshop. I have experienced the magic of baby signing with my own daughter who learned over 50 signs DST’ instead in  before she learned to speak. It is my dream to teach as many Filipino families as I can to share the wonderful benefits of baby signing.

    BABY LINGO WORKSHOP

WHO CAN COME: Moms and Dads of 0 to 24 month old babies

How do I learn baby sign language?
Just sign up for a workshop and by the time we end our 3 hour session you can start teaching baby how to sign at home. The workshop consists of a talk, video presentation, games, and learning of signs.

    What signs do I learn?
The signs we use are the standardized sign language, hence you learn a real, living language–as real as English, Chinese, or French! We are against teaching homemade baby signs as what other companies do. Why would you want your baby to learn “fake” signs when he can easily model the real thing?

    How big is the class?
We accept a maximum of only 40 people or 20 couples in a class.

Do I have to bring baby?
We teach you, the parents, how to sign with your baby so baby’s presence is not required. However, if there will be no one to care for baby at home, then you may take him/her along.

    How much does it cost?
We have a fee of P1,500 for individuals and P2,000 for couples. You can also take yaya along for an additional P500 fee. The fee covers a Baby Lingo Workbook, Baby Lingo Reference Guide, snacks, Certificate of Attendance, and online support after the workshop.

    How do I register?
To reserve a slot, full payment is required in advance. Register and pay fee at Hobbes & Landes, Bonifacio High Street. Please bring your Official Receipt as this will serve as your enrollment form to the workshop.
