    GLOBAL ART Frequently Asked Questions

    1.    What is Global Art?

    a.    It is an International Creative Art Program for children 4 years old and above available in 18 countries including USA, Australia, India, China and all South East Asia.
    b.    We teach creativity or creative thinking using Art as a vehicle.
    c.    Global Art originated from Malaysia. Global Art is the largest chain of art learning center in the world.

    2.    What do you teach to children or how do you teach?

    a.    For 4 years old or 5 years old, we start by asking the child to trace an object to enhance their motoric skills since children that age usually do not have a proper pencil grip yet. After that we will teach the child to color the object, so we will be teaching them proper color combination and stroke.
    b.    For 6 years old, we would again ask the child to trace an object but at this age, a child should also be able to draw some objects in addition to the traced object.
    c.    For students aged 7 years old and above, they will have to draw from zero. Each project will have a theme. Then our teachers will encourage each student to imagine and have their imagination written down and help them to put their imagination into something visual.  Thus, we teach Children to IMAGINE WITHIN A BOUNDARY.

    3.    What is the difference between Global Art and any other Art school or center?

    a.    Global Art does not encourage children to copy an object. We encourage children to be imaginative. For example, some art schools would just put an apple in front of a class and ask the class to copy the apple. The student who can draw the apple most similar to the model is the winner. But in Global Art, the apple will only serve as a subject. The students will have to think what is the apple doing, where is it doing it, with who, when and how. So the apple might not look like a perfect apple. But there will always be an interesting story behind each drawing. Either the apple is doing a 10K marathon, or the apple is in a Philippine Idol or even being out of space with his friends.
    b.    Global Art emphasizes on the creative thinking not only on the drawing or coloring skills. We train children to think of other possibilities to portrait each theme, to be creative by coming up with different stories for different themes, to be resourceful. We train children to THINK.
    c.    Global Art has a very systematic and progressive curriculum which would allow students to enhance their drawing skills as well as their creative minds.
    d.    We also have annual national and international competition which will  expose our students to interaction and to provide our students to showcase their skills.
    e.    We are in 18 countries, and our students can easily transfer to different countries of Global Art.

We do not encourage to buy all the workbooks at the same time.  After finishing a level, the next level workbooks are readily available at P805.00 only. In addition, should there be a need to purchase a new set of Global Art oil pastel, they cost P470.00 only.

**Inclusive materials are as follows: 8B pencil, workbook and oil pastel. However, 48pc color pencil (Faber Castell Brand preferred), HB pencil, and kneaded eraser, are not included. These should be brought during class.

    7.    What level my child would be in?

    a.    We will have to set up an appointment for a free trial and assessment.
    b.    During the Free Trial, the teacher would also assess the child’s level.

    8.    Can my child do the drawing or coloring at home?

You can bring them home but you cannot let your child do it at home, because we want to make sure that the students learn all of the techniques. They might finish the whole book but did not learn anything if they did it at home. However, they may work on other coloring or drawing books for practice purposes and show their teacher on class day.

    9.    What is the average teacher – student ratio?

6 – 8 students for each teacher to produce quality teaching.

    10.    Can my child consume his/her sessions in different branches?

No. We highly discourage this in order to ensure that your child gets comfortable with his/her surroundings and classmates that will facilitate in building a more solid foundation. However, if after finishing a level you would like to change to a different branch, please feel free to enroll at the new preferred branch.

    11.    If my child misses a session? Can it be replaced?

Yes, your 1 month tuition fee is good for 4 weeks or 1 month, so you have to have the replacement session within the month and depending on the availability of schedules. But if there’s no prior notice, class is forfeited.

Interested students are advised to register and enroll prior to start (1st session) of the program. For further inquiries and technical questions, please redirect them to Hobbes and Landes, Greenbelt 5 (7574241) or Hobbes and Landes, Rockwell Power Plant (7570263) or email mail@hobbesandlandes.com
