First ever DOG WASH WEEKEND scheduled on May 30

Benefit event sparks collaboration among donors, sponsors and volunteers

For the first time in the country, the important but often neglected duty of proper dog bathing and grooming will be the highlight of a benefit event especially dedicated to dog owners.

Aptly titled Dog Wash Weekend, the event is slated on Sunday, May 30 from 10am to 6pm at Hobbes and Landes in Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City.

Highlights of the event include a day-long benefit dog wash, where dog owners can pre-register their dogs for a bath, cut and style session with Paws & Tails Grooming Salon and Boutique; a photo booth by Skyefire Studios where pooch parents can pose with their dogs and bring home souvenir photos; lectures on responsible pet ownership and grooming; free vet clinic consultations by Pendragon veterinary Clinic as well as grooming consultations; a raffle; and more.

DJ Chiko Garcia of RX 93.1, who volunteered to take his dog for a bath, cut and style session, will also join the program.

Dog Wash Weekend’s beneficiary is the Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF), a non-profit animal welfare organization that conducts rescue missions with the CIDG (Central Intelligence and Detection Group) for slaughter-bound dogs. The AKF will also hold a brief talk on its advocacy.

Participants are welcome to join in the lectures and registration is free. Only those who are joining the dog wash and photo sessions will be charged with P500 and P150, respectively, all of which will be donated to the AKF.
